Raj Venkatesan is the founder and chief investment officer of Trinity Alps Capital Partners, an institutional investment management firm based in San Francisco, California. Raj founded Trinity Alps in 2017 in order to utilize two decades of global investment experience and expertise as the sole portfolio manager of the firm’s Global Focused Equity strategy.
Armed with a degree in Political Economics and Asian studies from Williams College, Raj began his career at JP Morgan in 1992 as an investment analyst working in Asia and New York City. From 1995-1997, Raj attended Harvard Business School and earned an MBA. After business school Raj spent the next 19 years at Standard Pacific Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund in San Francisco.
Raj joined Standard Pacific as an analyst in 1997, was the sole portfolio manager of both the Japan Fund (2004- 2016) and Asia Fund (2007- 2016), and was also the co-portfolio manager of the firm’s flagship Global Fund from 2005- 2016.
Raj lives in San Francisco with his wife and two sons. He is an active member of the community and supports several non-profits and educational institutions. He enjoys fly fishing, baseball and traveling.
